TIF 2026 in Ashgabat: forum themes and prospects for Bulgarian business

The Turkmenistan Investment Forum, TIF 2026, took place in Ashgabat on 1–2 October. Hosted at the Ýyldyz Hotel, it was organised by Turkmenistan’s Ministry of Finance and Economy and Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The event continued the international business dialogue introduced in BTCIC’s earlier announcement (Bulgarian).

According to the Institute of International Relations of Turkmenistan’s Foreign Ministry, the forum attracted over 700 guests, including representatives of more than 200 companies from over 40 countries. The sessions covered energy, transport, climate issues, sustainable agriculture and processing industries.

The European focus: connectivity and energy

The state news portal Golden Age reported that EU Ambassador Luc Devigne highlighted the Trans-Caspian transport corridor, railway modernisation and opportunities in solar and wind power as areas for cooperation.

Editorial perspective: relevance for Bulgarian businesses

For Bulgarian companies, the themes of TIF 2026 suggest several areas worth exploring in greater detail: engineering services and equipment, logistics, energy efficiency, and agricultural and processing technologies. The value of the discussions lies in identifying where a company’s expertise could meet a potential partner’s needs.

The practical next step is to turn general interest into a clear proposal: what problem the company solves, what experience it brings and what kind of local partner it seeks. A concise company profile, relevant references and an initial understanding of technical requirements can help move the conversation from an overview of opportunities to an assessment of feasible cooperation.

Bulgarian companies seeking assistance in establishing contacts with Turkmen partners can reach BTCIC at office@btcic.org.
