The Bulgarian-Turkmenistan Chamber of Industry and Commerce is following with interest the upcoming Ahal-Teke Championship 2026, which will take place on 4–6 September 2026 in Peelbergen, the Netherlands — close to the borders with Belgium and Germany.
The event is organised in partnership with the Turkmen state association “Türkmen Atlary” and marks the symbolic Year of the Horse. For the first time, it brings together representatives of Turkmenistan (Türkmen Atlary), Russia (VNIIK) and Europe (ATHA) in honour of the Akhal-Teke breed.
Important update from the organisers: due to international sanctions and visa restrictions, the VNIIK representative from Russia will not be able to attend in person, and grading has therefore been dropped from the championship programme. Online participation of a representative of the joint studbook will be arranged for the breeding competition.
